By using Make a Hug, you agree to these terms. They are written to keep a simple, personal service safe for the people creating and receiving digital care packages.
What the service provides
Make a Hug lets you assemble text, links and supported media into an unlisted web page and share its private URL. No account is required. The core creation and opening experience is free; the PayPal button is optional support.
Your content and permission
You keep ownership of content you create. You grant Make a Hug the limited permission needed to store, process and deliver that content through the service. You confirm that you have the right to share every message, image, recording, drawing and link you upload, including the consent of people whose voice or image appears.
Do not use Make a Hug to
- harass, threaten, impersonate, exploit or deceive someone;
- share unlawful, hateful, sexually exploitative or non-consensual content;
- upload malware, stolen material or content that infringes another person’s rights;
- collect credentials or sensitive records, or disguise a malicious link;
- automate bulk creation, overload the service or bypass technical safeguards.
Content or access may be removed when reasonably necessary for abuse prevention, security, legal compliance or service operation.
Private links are not secret vaults
Packages are unlisted and use hard-to-guess URLs, but anyone who receives or discovers a URL can open it and can forward it. The service is not end-to-end encrypted. Use good judgment and do not store passwords, identity documents, financial information, medical records or other high-risk data.
Deletion and backups
The creator’s browser stores the only usable deletion key returned by the service. Keep access to that browser if you may need to remove the package. Make a Hug is not a backup or archival service; drafts, packages or media may be unavailable or lost, and you should keep originals of anything important.
External links and services
Goodies can link to services such as music, video, maps, shops or news sites. Make a Hug does not control or endorse those sites. PayPal, Plausible, Microsoft Clarity, Google Analytics and Cloudflare operate under their own terms and policies.
Optional PayPal support
PayPal support is voluntary and does not purchase access, additional storage or a guaranteed service term. Except where applicable law requires otherwise, voluntary support payments are not refundable.
Availability and warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” While reasonable care is taken, uninterrupted availability, permanent storage, compatibility with every device or the behavior of third-party links cannot be guaranteed. To the extent allowed by law, Make a Hug is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service.
Independent service
Make a Hug is an original, independent service. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by A Little Box of Goodies or alittleboxofgoodies.com.
